The next title to the Halo series is the Halo 3 expansion that has a brief story which is actually a prequel that takes place before Master Chief was out in the open to the middle of the war.
Master Chief and The elites will NOT be in there, thou the only enemies we'll face are the brutes. In the middle of Halo 2, Elites turned to allies with us to finish the battle.
IGN: No Elites in Halo 3: ODST
While its only an expansion, I bet Halo 4 is already in the works which would be a straight sequel from the third...because someone actually hasnt died yet and you know who it is?
The Flood. In Halo 2, u met the biggest monster of all floods who went after the Halos and u would meet him briefly in Halo 3 thou only hear him mostly in your head...so yeah, after the ending I dont think the Flood boss has actually died yet.
