The Congressional Forum! LEADAmerica July 1 - July 10, 2005
Gallaudet University has partnered with LEADAmerica. To guarantee full access, interpreters and signing counselors will support YSP participants as they engage an experience rarely available to high school students. Students will witness democracy and leadership in action as they get an up-close look at the exciting and often controversial world of American government and politics. They will learn how the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government operate and how they debate, negotiate and compromise to address the difficult issues facing our nation. They will meet today's leaders who provide an insider's view of government and leadership in our nation's capital. Students will gain an understanding of the political, economic and human factors that impact and often influence decision-making in the legislative process. And, through active discussion and debate, students will practice negotiating and learn new ways to communicate more effectively. $1200/10 days. Scholarship available.

Does anyone know if there is any scholarships or funding available for these programs. $1200 is awfully expensive and I know many students who wouldn't be able to afford that.
