I am hard of hearing I DONT read lips but, i know asl NOT fluently but, im still self teaching myself I like what you said...." i hear with my eyes" i like that! :) i incorage you to learn or continue to learn ASL (american sign language) it does help i wish you the best of luck and at times i...

im HOH and researched both CI and hearing aids and found that if you do get them there is NO 100% chance you can hear ....it does NOT work for everyone ive learned ASL is the best choice and it wont cost you $1,000's of dollars for a small chance in hearing again i suggest you continuing...

TO ALL: Thank you all so much for the tips and comments!!! I've been in 2-3 diff deaf chat sights and didn't feel welcomed at all they weren't that great (filled with NON deaf ppl trying to get fixed up with someone) and i am wanting to ask question to ppl who might have answers about deaf...

i did...and i dont think thats it... but, im not a doc. either...i dont get verdigo its only the ears "trun off" not being able to hear as well and ringing in both ears....:dunno:

im looking it up now thanks so much!!....i do have tinnitus and when it "turns off" it sounds like im under water BUT, the ENT doc checked inside and said all was norm so NO fluid NO wax

we saw an ENT and told him this....he didnt seem to have much to say about it....

Hey i do have another question.....SOMETIMES it feels like my ears (both) "turn off" (can't really hear anything not even MY voice) what is this? it happens for like 1 min (i never timed it) ...then back to norm. at random times

Thank you so much everyone! i never felt so welcomed! :) i think i'll stay here! the doc did say hearing aids will help but, they have to be programmed ones so they are VERY high in price for us :l they said $3,000 EACH so we are using ASL or they talk REALLY loud we choose NOT to tell anyone...

Thank you sooo very much! i was born hearing fine for all my life (so far) then about 6 months ago my husband noticed me turning up the TV or music too loud...so we got it checked out and just last month we found out we dont really know why - the doc....that gave me the hearing test said its...

i also dont see it as a curse .....sometimes with the stuff ppl say about hearing loss or deaf ppl makes me so made like they CAN'T write or drive! you dont really need ears to drive or write they are smart ppl!!! but, any ways honestly i was scared at first....but, i know ASL and i dont hang...
