    Apple devices

I have 2 iPads and an Android phone and love them both. I got the first iPhone when it came out in 2007 and been a fan since. Consumers are the winners here as technology has made life even more easier and fun. iOS devices are great for those who aren't too good with tech while Android is...

    Benefits of Netflix?

I've cut the cord over 5 years ago and haven't looked back. Netflix/Hulu/Amazon Prime Instant plus an outdoor HDTV antennae is the best way to save a ton of money. I use a Chromecast and XBMC to pipe all the content to the TV in the living room and that covers just about everything online.

    GPS recommendations???

Most GPS navigators and phones have an option to not use dirt roads and toll roads, so you can disable them and it won't take you down obscure routes.

Can google glasses help the deaf communicate?

Unfortunately it's going to be a while yet before that kind of capability is accurate and useful. Right now the listening and transcribing isn't very accurate, not to mention it'd have to take into account background noise, distance, accent, etc. Then they'd have to use a processor powerful...

'Computer vision syndrome' on the rise

This program helps alleviate some of the problems at night: https://justgetflux.com/ Also, you can wear any glasses with an amber/yellow tint to it for the same result. It's a good idea to follow the 20/20/20 rule which is to take a break every 20 minutes, focus your eyes at an object 20 feet...

TX Cops pull wrong car with mom and 4 kids in it

It might be a good idea to have a sign that you can hold up although at night it's hard to see sometimes. Did a search just now and this article addresses that question and also provide a PDF file you can print to make visor cards: Visor Cards—Bridging the Communications Gap When Stopped by...

TX Cops pull wrong car with mom and 4 kids in it

Incidents like that is bound to happen all over the nation. With the amount of arrests and bad/incomplete information 911 operators get, it's just inevitable. Even if only 0.5% of these kind of incidents happen, that's still probably 3-5 incidents a day that could be posted online and make...

    Psycho Dad Shreds Video Games

It seems scripted and fake, but still kind of funny. Probably not the best way of parenting there; the dad could've just taken the console and hidden it and it would've achieved the same goal, although posting a video of it on YouTube with ads might generate a nice bit of income for them.

    Google Chrome is growing!

Actually, Chrome has Flash integrated and doesn't need it to be installed like the other browsers. Additionally, it'll update on its own without you having to do anything. You can see this by typing chrome://plugins in the address bar.

Peanut Wigglebutt tops list of wacky names for dogs

When I was a kid I wanted to name my dog Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious but my mom exercised her veto power and overruled me. She was named Baby, instead.

What are you thinking about Part VII

I really hate it when that happens. Of course once I clean out the tube or put in a new battery it usually comes back on, but it's still a stressful moment when you wonder if you're up the creek without the paddle. Right up there with biting something hard and feeling a crack and you...

    How is your weather today??

Getting a lot of heat advisory warnings lately in FL. The Feel Like Index has been over 105 the past 3 days in a row now. Heat and humidity, even the dogs don't want nothing to do with it. Also been getting some lightning storms in the late afternoon/early evening, making it extra muggy when...

What are you thinking about Part VII

Sorry to hear that, I remember feeling pretty sad when my dad's old Honda Prelude hit the afterlife. It was such an awesome car and it practically purred through my childhood.

    iPhone Connections

Ah, I see. In that case, wouldn't a secure USB drive be better? Most of them these days have encryption software to encrypt and protect the data on it, and also password-protection. It's portable and easy to use, just plug in, transfer files, pop out, and plug it in at home when you want to...
