What’s That Electrical/mechanical Humming Sound I Sometimes Hear With Digital Ha?

After several adjustments, my audi decided it would be best to try another brand, so I'm trialing the base line Phonak aid now. It's an improvement, there's no electrical humming this time, but some other issues with voices! Ah, the frustration!! But I can imagine with the Siemens rep, with...

What’s That Electrical/mechanical Humming Sound I Sometimes Hear With Digital Ha?

Ha ha, but you're right, the whole process can be tedious and needs some lightness! Thank you, audi is going to try out fitting me with a different brand to see if it's any better.

What’s That Electrical/mechanical Humming Sound I Sometimes Hear With Digital Ha?

I experienced this after the second adjustment, the hair russelling sound was so loud, but it was only doing it when it was going into extreme digital mode: reducing what it perceived loud noises. But it was happening to so many (not so loud) sounds that I got the audi to fix it. It was making...

What’s That Electrical/mechanical Humming Sound I Sometimes Hear With Digital Ha?

I am trying for the third time the tedious process of trying to switch to digital HA after having had worn analogue for 35 years (my whole life basically). Suffice to say it hasn’t been smooth sailing! This third time, the audiologist has programmed a BTE Siemens Orion P (basic level as I’m...

May be trying Siemens Nitros soon

If I get a CI I'm not guaranteed to be able to talk on the phone so why bother anyway for a complicated and expensive surgery for something that I can just get with a regular hearing aid? Also, the cost of a CI doesn't end when the surgery is over. You have to get regular maintenance, parts...

Any recommendations of which digital aids best resemble analogue?

Another good suggestion, thanks green427. Some time ago I did conduct a search on the Internet if could buy analogue aids and saw many made in China. However, I believe part of the success of getting aids (digital and analogue) to better suit you is the adjustment to settings that your Audi...

Any recommendations of which digital aids best resemble analogue?

Wow. Thank you Analogue. That made me feel better and has given me some hope. I had recently been fitted with another Siemens BTE Motion aid which was first tuned to resemble an analogue as close as possible. It was alright, but voices were still a bit too soft, and other sounds too...

We have many advantages of being deaf

This rings very true for me. Also, I've had a former boyfriend asking me if his loud snoring bothers me (as his former girlfriends had complained). I haven't even realised he snored!:giggle:

Any recommendations of which digital aids best resemble analogue?

Thanks Fuzzy That does offer me some consolation. With my current audiologist, they act like they don't want to spend the time and just twinkle here and there and then send me on my way. I'm going to have to shop around for a different fitter.

Any recommendations of which digital aids best resemble analogue?

I have been wearing analogue Phonak hearing aids for nearly all my life (30 years). When it was time for me to get new aids I was frustrated when told they no longer make analogue aids any more and that I am going to have to switch to digital aids. As I am covered under the Australian...
