Abby, don't feel bad. I learned sign by learning songs via an ASL dictionary. I later learned that the whole song thing isn't how me and my church group were doing it. The whole program was stupid, but if it wasn't for that program I would never have learned any sign at all. :)
Yeah. I've got a pretty bad self-esteem. I talk a lot sometimes, but in general, I find it easier to get what I actually mean across in sign rather than spoken English. There are just so many different interpretations of words in spoken English. In sign, I just have to use context to get what I...
That's adorable, the little boy being so passionate about the letter z. lol. My baby cousins were born tongue tied and their birth mother didn't have it fixed when they were small, so my aunt (their adoptive mother) taught them sign language from baby sign videos and that is their main form of...

I have a MacBook Pro with FaceTime if you would like to arrange a date and time. I'm hearing, but have been learning ASL for 4 years. I have gotten out of practice lately because my only deaf friend moved away and doesn't have a computer to video chat with.
I'm very interested in becoming an interpreter. I'm a freshman in college now, and I'm 'undecided' major. My school doesn't have a terp program, so I'm gonna have to transfer at the beginning of next year. I'm hoping to get accepted to the HUG program at Gallaudet, but there are other programs I...
Hi! I'm Miranda. I'm 17 and have been learning ASL since I was 13. My church had a program for deaf people that I now realize was absolutely ridiculous. I had a very good friend in high school who was a HoH CODA. I'm NOT a deaf worshiper. :) I just feel more comfortable around D/deaf people than...
