So... wait.. let me get this straight.. you buy a mac.. to run Microsoft OS?.. Why not just get a PC based system? Fact is.. you can not compare operating systems anymore.. both laptops can run BOTH operating systems.. though with a mac.. you have to buy all of your software.. boot camp...

That is like saying all deaf people can not hear... there are various forms of deafness.. from birth to late deafened.. and degrees of hearing loss within those times.. But, this research is most likely (if successful in the first place) be geared towards late deafened and HOH individuals...

Im a fan of sony over Toshiba. Although Toshiba does make nice laptops, Sony seems to have better hardware, as well as a better looking screen and case. Sony laptops are also as light if not lighter in weight to the Toshiba laptops as well. I have a Sony SZ series, and I love it.. Cellular...

CI's are last resort items for people who would otherwise not be able to recognize speech.. You mentioned you would score fairly well.. I say you should stick with your aids.. go to another Audie if you like.. but once you have a CI in.. you can't revert the damage it has done by its insertion...

Crystal.. UT is a decent school.. its very large though.. you may want to look just across the river to Maryville College.. Its a very nice liberal arts college.. and just a bit of history.. they were the first college in the country to have a degree in sign language interpreting..
