    I have been losing hearing due to age and genetics. I still score as hearing on the free online hearing tests, but I am having more and more difficulty socializing with the signing-impaired. Wondering if there are hearing aids for the mostly hearing?

    It sent my message out to everyone in my phone contacts who uses Glide, a lot of people......including one person I had forgotten was in my phone and wished I had deleted a long time ago... :eek2:

    Glide bites. Why does it send out notifications to your entire phone list? :-p It's a great idea but for that reason I won't use it. Has to be something better...

    How long did it take you to be fluent in ASL?

    I believe the standard is 3-5 years for fluency. I hang out with signers all the time, but since reception is delayed, don't understand everything. Have been signing for 3 years. Would say I sign at about an ASL3 level, if ASL5 is fluency.

    Just to be clear, as a hearing person I do not have access to Sorenson or Purple etc. to sign with my Deaf friends. That's why I thought a video IM app would be more convenient.

    I just tried Glide a few days ago for my iPhone and at first it looked like a great app - very fast and convenient, until I realized it sends your message out to EVERYONE ON YOUR PHONE, along with a solicitation to join! App FAIL. Anyone have any iPhone apps for instant video messaging?

    LGBT Discrimination in Arizona

    It's so crazy. How can a business owner know someone's religious beliefs just at sight? You can't tell if someone is pro-choice or supports DNR decisions just by looking at them. You can, however, label someone as gay by their appearance. :(
