Here's a hoot of whats a-coming for deaf kids! Pricing is about $35 a pair.

I'll be after it on sunrise!

That's interesting. Where did you get that picture from? Link?

Thanks.

Really no link yet as I got it off a catalog that landed in my snail mail box yesterday. I scanned it. The link is going to be on our website as soon as I get them wholesale.

well, not true... its good for business and kids that are outside and the parents can text and tell him/her to come home or something like that.. I think that would be excellent!!!

I work at a vet and we have walkie talkies.. but I can't use it.. no text! this would be sooo perfect for my work but wondered if they have a mature one, not a kiddie one... I'd like to have a link too so i can show it to my boss.

I'm sorry hon but when you have kids you will understand why, I don't have to run across the street and get my children.... or if theyre riding their bikes, I don't have to scream out their names....

This is worth it when it comes to being a parents!!! I've been trying to look for something similar to this, but no one had this only the ones that talk through it, we do have walkie talkies but I was unable to hear my boys speak through it, also we do have them at cooks-off too, my dad is tired of sending someone over to get us :giggle:

oh PLZ!
i am too young to have kids! i'm only 18! :giggle:
Nope i dont work cuz i quit working at Wendy's.
And nope i wont plan to have kids cuz i'm G-A-Y :D

No problem, We understand your reason behind this....but at the same time try to understand where we are coming from on this too.. some of us really do need it....:)

okay.. gotcha.. now i know where you're coming from... I also have SK too and I love it but its for my personal use. walkie talkie is for business or use it at home for kids.

:D, i wonder if ur kids dont like to use it for u?

Some serious thoughts that lead me to question the viability of this product:

1) Does it vibrate upon receiving a message? If not, then how will I be notified if I can't hear a beep and I'm not looking at the screen all the time? Without this, it'll be useless as a "come home for dinner" walkie talkie for deaf kids.

2) Will it work through walls or can it only be used in open spaces such as indoors without interference or outdoors? Again, defeats the whole purpose of having one of these if you cannot call to someone outside without actually going out!

3) Is the range equivalent to other walkie talkies? Most walkie talkies have 100-300 feet of range.

4) Is this durable for the kids to play with? The moving slide up screen makes me hesitate, and I imagine it's lightweight, so it's not like they'd be playing with a brick of a device

5) Battery life? Probably not a big issue, but if you're using this to communicate with kids, you'll want the battery to be reliable.

that is what i thought too..
i guess u have to wait and see to see the link then maybe it will tell u everything..

Looks interesting...something useful for couples around the home...it would be like...umm...da man texting da wife via the walkie-talkie system and saying he wanted more beer??? All kidding aside, however, it definitely would be very useful around the house for couples, children, etc....although, I wonder about the range--I sure would be very interested getting something like this. Very innovative!

Well even though I'm not deaf but hearing impaired, it'd be very interesting, especially if I'm at work, even if I do have an Alltel Pocket PC PPC6700.
