Some of you guys are lucky to be living close to the beach

I live about 2 hours away from the 4 different beaches!! haven't been there yet but hopefully will go before fall!! :)

Yea, I live about 2hrs from the nearest beach and 3hrs from my favorite beach (Myrtle Beach!!!).

However, I wouldn't consider myself fortunate to live on the beach especially the Carolina coast. Way too many Hurricanes....not worth the extra in insurance or the hassle. I rather stay in hotel or rent a place which is a lot cheaper in the long run... :D

I was born and raised in Beach town. Its Cape Cod, Mass.. I used to live 50 steps away from beach. I could go for a walk and take swim then come back home every single day. Miss them since five years becuz right now I am in New York.. closest beach is around 20 miles and its closed anyway becuz of baceteria issues. The next closest beach is 30 miles which is at Finger Lake region. Ummm I miss ocean beach more than anything..

I live 1/4 a mile from the beach- its right at the end of the road below me. Here's a picture:

Very beautiful view you have there...the picture you took really qualifies to be featured as a postcard! Sure looks so peaceful and very calming to look out into. Thanks for sharing this photo with AD'ers. ;)

I'm about 2 mins walk to the beach.... other beaches are 10 mins drive, 45 mins etc

I live in an inland city :( I have never seen the ocean or sea all my life :(

It is about 1 hour to get there, until the new freeway is complete next year, it will be 20 minute to drive to the beach!!

Today I went to beach which is at Lake Erie...that's 2 and half hours drive. Also I live about 15-20 min from my house to Lake Ontario State Park. And other one is Irondequoit Lake. It is not far either. :)

Yeah, I was at Lake Erie a few times more than
a year ago I was supposed to go there again
sometime this month, but drop everything because
of the Heat Wave

I used to live in Long Island where we can go to
any beaches anywhere for less than 30 minutes I think !!!
Family used to go to Jones Beach almost
every weekend. Not anymore :-(

live near one of these Finger lakes

One of my favorite Finger lakes
is Skaneateles.. So beautiful area !! I LOVE NY !!!!!

For most of my life I have lived on a Caribbean island with one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I still go there to visit my family once or twice a year and I would zoom to the beach as soon as I get there :)

girl, you re very lucky!

I grew up in Southern California and my father lived on the beach. It was awesome :)

Now I live 50 miles away from the nearest beach and I make an effort to go at least twice a year to enjoy the pounding waves. I am at my best when on a beach for sure :)

Caribbean Island?? Now I am so envious of you! :giggle: That's awesome though.

Unfortunately there's no beaches around here in Kentucky, however we do have lakes and rivers that can be swimmed in. It's been a long time since I have had the sands on my foot - that is before I went to California recently, 2 weeks ago. It felt so good having the sands on my foot and swimming in the salty Pacific Ocean.

Update news recently.... I read the newspaper..

I'm already *screaming* We cannot go beach that where is Lake Erie have bad bacetrica e.coli in the water at Lake Erie...
Whcih we cannot go Port Burwell, Port Stanely and others....rest related to Lake Erie.. We have to use Lake Superior. *mumbling* 1 hour

Man, you need to plan a vacation to the ocean sometime soon. You just don't know what you are missing. ;)
