Baseball....2014 Playoffs

Speaking of Game 7's, the last World Series Game 7 was in 2011, after St. Louis beat Texas in that epic Game 6. Hasn't been one since. Before that, the last Game 7 was in 2002, when Anaheim and San Fransico played Game 7.

I have to take it one game at a time, too stressful for me. Friggin crazy to lose a post season game on an error though.

Didn't San Francisco do the exact same thing against Washington in the NLDS?

You mean win a game on an error by the National's? Yes they did. I attribute that to great base running and heads up baseball. I will take the win however we get it. After all, the Giant's had to get on base in order to score.

Like you said, it's not over yet.....I will be super bummed if I can't watch the game next week while in Chicago.

Oh, I'm sure you'll find somewhere to watch the later portion of the NLCS if it gets that far. And yes, that play was heads-up. They wouldn't be here otherwise.

I was checking the last time the NLCS went 7 games, and oddly enough, it was these two teams that did it last, in 2012.

St. Louis is a good team, good management too. 2012 the Giant's won the World Series, hoping for a repeat. Still a lot of baseball to go though.

Yes. Since La Russa retired after the 2011 World Series, Matheny has done nothing but lead the Cards to four straight NLCS berths, and the 2013 World Series. They made a very good pick, manager-wise. I have no complaints.
 
ALCS update. Kansas City won again. If they win tomorrow, they will return to the World Series for the first time since 1985.
 
Giant's won, super excited. Hopefully they win tomorrow and will end up playing Kansas City in the world series.

They're super hot right now. They haven't lost yet, and they made history by winning their first eight postseason games, something no team had ever done until today. Only two teams have won 7 straight playoff games-- the1924 Red Sox and the 2007 Colorado Rockies.

They lost game 2 in this series. Now series is 3-1 so if S.F. wins tomorrow they willl go to the world series against Kansas City. Games will be playing next week while we are in Chicago. Husbands sister better have cable tv. I haven't missed a game yet and if S.F. makes it, I won't miss those games either.

Do feel I need to bring this up. They may have cable but their tier or package not include the channel carrying these games. So far the NL games have been on FS1.

Jane, they will be in the Northwest suburbs here in Illinois next week, and suburban people more than likely have cable, and they should have it, so she should be able to.

It is not just a matter of cable; but what channels are included in the particular package or tier they have subscribed to with which cable or satalite provider.

True, and given that where they are is in a different county (Which I must admit has its interests), they may do things a little differently up there.

I lost my voice from screaming for them. OMG what an ending. Definitely baseball at it's best.
