Do you think Purple SmartVP will be winner over Ntouch VP?

We shall see and will know for sure within a year. Still too early to tell, that why I can't say which is better. I still prefer SVRS over purple's video quality. Newest P3 still can't beat VP-200, even NTVP.

Real problem I see with P3 is that when hands moves more than the minimum speed, it gets blurry while Sorenson VP don't blur that much. I don't care if background quality is superior or not. If Purple wants win me, they gotta to prove that their video CODEC is superior to Sorenson's own CODEC before I could decide.

What I don't like is dual power adapter requirements. It is not really energy efficient and likely requires to add power strip. I have no proof but I have noticed that when using cheap, blown, or poorly designed power strip, it DOES affect the video quality and I am not sure why I am seeing this pattern. Not many of people know that estimated about 80% of power strip are no longer providing protection. Once it gets fried, need to replace it because it will not protect second or subsequence strikes.

Thats right. doesnt matter. whats here today can be gone tomorrow.

Do I really care if one VP service beats another VP service? No.

All I care about is that it allows me to make calls to another person using VP and also use a relay interpreter for my calls to another person. I don't need the fancy mumbo-jumbo that all these VP companies are competing with.

I wouldn't care much about other new technology.. My wife and I still using VP-200 at home (yeah haven't updated yet, still waiting even I'm still happy with VP-200). Just like what Vampyro said, I'm satisfied with what I need on VP-200. When I got NVP at work, I just basically use for making call or received calls, I didn't pay any other attention with new features. I'm still using 2 ways VCO, I haven't tried using 1 way VCO but my wife at work use it and she did mentioned that her customer was having difficulty hearing her voice, but relay can hear it fine. So, I decided to test myself turning on 1 way VCO and will see from there on.

I will say yes or no about the SmartVP could done better than Sorenson… My understand that SmartVP run on android and many apps. Overall, the Netflix, browser and similar as notebook can install on SmartVP. At the end, do you guy remember notebook that Purple offer, it will be same result. Let me ask you, how many device do we see Netflix today? I normal use my iPhone or Apple TV that where I tends to use.

I am bit surprise that Android in the SmartVP which I am not fond of Android.

I finally got to see one at DeafNation saturday. I specifically asked in it can do the call full screen. The guy working there showed me that it can. That's a big positive to me. My Ntouch VP does not do full screen, which is annoying because I use it on a smaller TV (do not want it on main TV in family room).

? Yes! you can have Ntouch in full screen. All you need is press a button with "MODE" on it (Fairly near bottom of remote control). There is three different modes on it. If not understand clearly, I'd be more than happy to help you.

I know what you mean, that's why I set my VP to full screen mode too. :)

VP200 or nVP or nPC etc always can do full screen ..

Like what diehardbiker said go to full screen by pressing MODE, even in your SignMail

Or if you are watching Deaf Network channel or SignNetwork channel on your nVP you can go full screen by pressing MODE.

If you want your VP calls to always been in full screen when you make a call, go to the Settings -> Personal -> General then select Full Screen.

One more tip, in full screen mode, if your self-video box is in your way - you can move it around on the screen pressing MOVE or turn it off by pressing SELF.

On nTouch Tablet or Mobile, you can use your finger and move the self-video box anywhere on your screen.

I am not big of high tech for VRS but I do care for VRS alert my text when someone called us. If we were not home. Then I still get a sign mail on my MMS (Not email) I like text and MMS over email due quick and can't afford missed call like job interview, doc, vet, etc. Email alert got delay by around 5min on iPhone due save battery life but text is 1 sec or less.

That's the kind of service I already get with IP-Relay and Sorenson. :thumb:

Thanks for this, but it's still not full screen. It will work fine with a bigger TV, if I can ever afford one. (maybe on Black Friday). It was already set to Full Screen in the settings. The SmartVP and my Z5 on my Mac really do full screen.

I find it hard to believe, I have dealt for almost 6 years, and know that full screen should work with any TV. What TV that won't work? Can you take picture and have me look at it though PM?

Did you try click mode button? Or was it wide screen and you don't like see black stripes on both sides?
