what did you get for Christmas?

:ty:

As expected, I received brand spankin' new Pots & Pans!...Now I've got to get the bracket for the kitchen ceiling to hang them....They are still under the tree....and I double-dare any of my boys to use them!....

And a surprise also....from all 3 boys...a silver locket (heart-shaped) Necklace that is beautiful....

Goint out shopping later today for some clothes....after Xmas sale, plus 15% off with my card at Bealls.....

I got some movies, a few nice books, some clothes, movie passes, some personal and sentimental items. I also got a stocking full of goodies. For me, Christmas is about spending time with my wife and my family.

You all got lots of nice presents! I would have even appreciated the poop bags - I use lavendar ones with little hearts printed on them myself. They are nice! Although I wonder what archeologists are going to say, 100 years from now, when they find piles of these things and think "What sort of culture WAS this that revered and saved dog poop??"

Anyway - our big Christmas present to each other - is a new roof. Sigh. Not very romantic, but it's $7,000, so we kept the rest of our spending fairly modest.

We gave "activity presents" - went to see Handel's "Messiah," "A Candlelight Christmas," and will see "Billy Elliot" the first week of January. We went out for dinner on Christmas Eve to a really nice restaurant, before going to midnight services. So those were our special moments.

Under the tree: I gave him a new Nook Tablet, plus a real book of Mark Twain's "Tom Sawyer," "Huckleberry Finn," and "Puddn'head Wilson." My British-born husband has never read any Mark Twain, and now that he is a new American citizen, I thought it was time he learned something about American culture!

He gave me a light to attach to the top of my Nook for reading in bed, and a fancy coffee cake. Plus all the afore-mentioned tickets to things.

My presents to friends and family mostly were hand-knit scarves and hats. Total tally was quite high. I hope they all like them.

A few people got fruitcakes and/or peanut brittle. Some people just already have everything in the world, and/or are at the stage in life when they don't want more stuff. Those folks go on the "fruitcake" list. Everyone loves it, so I guess we're all good.

2 Christmas socks
1 pair of slippers

And some cash & gift cards, calendar, cookies & candy.

I'm happy. :)

And a partridge in a pear tree?

My husband got down on one knee with a ring box and popped it open a new turtle necklace :-P He bought me three ps3 games but honestly I saw the necklace and forgot what they were hehe.

My kids were the best though. My oldest daughter got a statue of Beethoven and I thought she was going to pass out from the excitement lol.

Oh, got a nice art present from my youngest daughter (11 yrs old). The colors are vibrant although taking a picture of it with my old smartphone doesn't do it justice.

Send the poop bags back to her & say they're the wrong size. Maybe try one out first before sending it to her. :giggle:

Actually they're the wrong size! I like to use the plastic bags I use buy to fruits at the grocery store! I find the poop bags too small!

JClarke -Bonds undies are best!!!!! I still have some!

BeachGirl - Billy Elliot love amazing!!!! Dallas me see when live Sydney :) so good!

I got a really nice wireless printer that will work with my IPad. I'm excited for that. My mom gave me two beautiful sweaters. One daughter gave me a beautiful knit shirt that I wore ro Christmas dinner. My son gave us gift gift cards to the Cheesecake Factory. My oldest daughter gave me the perfume I wore the day of my wedding. It's been discontinued for many, many years. Some how she ordered it online from somewhere. It made me so happy and brought back sweet memories. Also got a few other gift cards. The best gift was seeing my family. I had all 3 children spend the night Christmas eve. Than I met up with my siblings that I haven't seen or heard from in many, many years. Was interesting that my brother who is a cop at one of the large jails had to learn finger spelling because the inmates use it back and forth so the guards can't here them. Weird??? All in all it was a good day. I was pretty exhausted when I got home and my head was throbbing from trying to converse eith everyone. I was here this Christmas so I have a lot to be thankful for.

I think you may had feel difference about getting poop bags from your
daughter if you saw that she gave nicer gifts to her mother in law! This is what hurt the most!! My daughter put more thought into the things she brought for her husband's mother than her own mother!

I can't wear perfumes , I have allergies. My granddaughter gave me a necklace
and earrings set she brought at her school's store. The necklace and earrings set are angles , my granddaughter picked it out on her own. This was the best gift I got! I may have to put some clear nail polish on the earring so the metal will not made my ears break out.
