I had a great dream last night. Ryan Reynolds was in my bed cuddling with me:naughty: It was nice. It wasn't sexual..yet.. Just some simple cuddle time with his Green Lantern Body..:laugh2: Some other crime fighting stuff was going on in my dream but it wasn't that major. Then my son's cries woke me up when the dream was about to get nice... Le Sigh...

If you don't dream every night, you end up with all sorts of problems from sleep deprivation. The REM period when dreams occur is the restful and renewing phase of sleep. You cannot go long without this phase of sleep without experiencing mental health issues, oftentimes psychosis.

So, most everyone dreams every night. It is just that some don't remember their dreams. In fact, even someone who remembers a dream or two has actually had many more dreams than the ones they do remember.

Thanks for getting all scientific! Lol I didn't mean for it to get so deep. :giggle: Maybe I'll rephrase my q. Does anyone remember their dreams often? I remember about eighty percent of my dreams.

Sorry about that...it's my nature and my profession.

How do you know that you remember 80% of your dreams? You would have to know how many dreams you don't remember to say that. j/k

Lawd! Lol I usually have two to three dreams in one night. And out of a week I remember about four days worth of dreams. Some days I might only remember what I dreamt of for a few minutes after waking up or like last nights dream I will remember that for the whole day. :naughty:

What do you do btw? I am a biology major. Going back after a break.

Oh, btw, if there's a punching smiley face, then that one is for you.

Clinical psychologist.:giggle:

I dream a lot, almost always in color, and remember quite a few of them for at least a short time. My husband claims to rarely remember his dreams, although once in a while he does, and he's "not sure" if he dreams in color or not.

No doubt with me; the colors are sometimes very vivid, sometimes just life-like but not particularly vivid. Rarely I'll have a dream that's sort of sepia-toned or like a grey, misty, rainy day.

Subjects: my dogs (natch), flying or sailing over something, people I know, once in a great while I'll dream of a celebrity or someone who has been in the news. Sometimes I'll have really sweet dreams about my dad doing something with me or being proud of me. He died when I was 7; somehow dreaming of him from time to time makes me feel a continued closeness with him, even though he's not here.

I have the strangest dreams ever! Nearly every night, too. Last night, I dreamt that I re-lived my high school graduation. It was so strange

Did you still graduate? (In your dream, I mean.)

It's very common for people to have panic dreams about not finishing an assignment or not being able to find a room for an exam, things like that, shortly after, in real life, school has finished and there is nothing left to be concerned about. The memories of getting all those final things done linger on in our dreams.

No, I never completed the ceremony. I kept getting up to leave, and see other people, and stuff. It was strange, I was very worried I'd be late. Maybe this is just some internal stress I'm having, about me ACTUALLY graduating from college next year? Hmmm.

I dream in color as well and there have been time when there are credits running in my dreams. Lately I have been having some dreams over and over again. One is of my wedding. I am coming up the aisle, and the groom slowly turns, but I never see his whole face. Also, the person taking me down the aisle changes all the time and was never my father and he actually did not escort me down the aisle as he died 2 years previous. I also have a nightmare involving a round ball shaped room with a disco ball and strobe lights that change colors and people laughing in the background and the pitches of their laughter matches the pitches and sounds from hearing tests. I can remember the first time I had this dream. I was 7 and it was after my very first hearing test. I had to put a colored peg in the "Lite Brite" whenever I heard a sound. Man I hated that!! 40 years later and I still have the nightmare. Wake up sweating and crying all the time.

I love the scientific explanation!

But although I sleep well, I rarely remember dreams.

I have stupid weird dreams, and I dream while I'm awake e.g normally I think I'm supposed to be looking after a child(then I realise I'm at home in my own bed), IDK why this is but I do it a lot mostly when I go to bed too early

I find dreams interesting and I keep trying to remember if I can "hear" in my dreams but I never really remember to find out.

I am interesting, I am surrpised I am science trick my nightmare weird I am dream my lover  weird on my feeling sleep! I am puzzled it I remember my brain is very science tricky on theory sound odd I was puzzled it!

I dream all the time about my childhood and teen yrs. I dream what I did,who was around me,what I was wearing. Weird and unusual dreams. I hate morning wood b/c they interrupt my sleeping!!!

I have a boat load of crazy dreams. The dream I have most is when I am in school. Nothing to do with graduation. I am just always in school/ high school.
