There are quite a few threads in AD asking for reasons why hearing people are annoying, ignorant, *insert negative adjective here*, etc.

So, I decided that we should have one that has a more positive note towards hearing people.

What do you like about them?

For me,
I like how they describe music to me. Especially when it's from a person who is VERY passionate about classical music.
I like how they get scared of loud sharp sounds or balloons popping.
I like it when they imitate a foreign accent. I may not appreciate the accent itself, but their faces change too. It's hilarious!

I admire the audience support they give.

The cheering, encouragement and elevated feelings when I run in a marathon realizing they are trying to support you.
Their screaming, gasping, shocks and bewilderment when they see something scary in a movie. I just laugh at them. lol!
Their cussing, shouts and distaste in anger of something going in a protest can make me feel like protesting too!

The hearing person I live with (i.e., my husband) is a huge help to me, by making phone calls as necessary (and he hates talking on the phone), putting up with watching CCs on TV when he would rather not, and generally being a good guy. Can't complain.

I like them when they say they wish they were deaf. :thumb:

I like them when they are bus drivers. They are usually very helpful.

I like it when they learn ASL

I have to echo a lot of what BeachGirl says. My SO is soooo good to me. ♥ ♥ ♥

I really like it when hearing people being compassion to each other whenever shit happens come up. Also, they support and help disabled people.

I'm a fan of some game, I'm pleased to see fans being cared each other and supported each other. To keep them and me being updated about something. Awesome! :D

I do think hearing people can be cool, too. :)

They mean well but don't know any better.

"Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

I like it when they are kind and decent people, just like I like it when deaf people are kind and decent as well.

I like it when they make an effort to communicate with me. As they tend to make eye contact, willing to do face to face communication and usually also articulate and mouth the words a little more and are also usually a little more expressive.

I like them at AD when they can read and follow rules!

I love that some do try. I totally love that my kids do what they can to help me. I really love when business people have no problems and do what they can to accomodate you. (not all of them do.)

My sons are hearing and strive very hard to make sure I understand everything being said....my family also, has somewhat taken more time with me and of course, my many hearing friends who look right at me and talk at a slower pace so I can understand.

There are some very nice hearing people.

Agree with PFH.

I like them because they are human beeeeeings like me. The different ethnicity of hearing people just makes them a bit charming and cute(heh, couldn't resist).

lol.

In case anyone didn't notice - I didn't even really reply in the "What ticks you off about hearies?" thread. Only three posts in there about relay operators.
