I'm sure that many deaf VRS customers already have too many ten digital numbers, not one # given by VR services... I do, too!

It's confusing but it's rather for temporary till after on June 30th unless it might be delayed, pray not!

Remember back then that they announced that you only need one digital numbers for all relay services yet it ain't so as of yet.

VRS customers must choose one default ten numbers from whichever VRS one prefers to use from that point and on. That means they must not use other 10 numbers given other than the default numbers. Wonder as if all relay services shall comply wit the FCC policy on that, I hope so for the sake.

I wonder what if one (including me) uses a switch and two videophones with two public IP addresses so can one uses both 10 digital numbers since one has two IP addresses... that's what I asked myself about that. I think so but am not so sure... so what do you think?

By the way I found it awkward when my wife ad I bought a new car few weeks ago and they asked for a phone number which we hardly memorize our too-many 10 numbers so I had to check mine on my pager address book. I told the dealer that we have too many phone numbers so he was kind of perplexed... u know, he must have wondering how the heck the deaf has too many phone numbers?!

It has happened the same with my friends and others who said the same thing whenever they approached the "same situation". So crazy!

So the VRS customers like you and I cannot wait to get over with it once the deadline date arrives!

only if someone, a deaf who is insane to pick up more number.

I just got only one 10-digit local-number on my VP and mobile phone, that's it.

I have VP200 number BUT I haven't get the i711 or IP relay number or Siprelay yet. Too many and that confuse me. I rather wait later when I get Blackberry, then I will get probably more toward to Siprelay.

Just go to mySorenson.com and register, for blackberry user that uses SIPrelay blackberry select Blackberry as endpoint, for those who just use AIM even on blackberry use AIM as end point, then wait 5 days before getting 10 digit local number, can request DirectVP number too on SIPrelay.

Those who have not register and get 10 digit number after June 30th will not be able to use SIPrelay or any IP based relay service. Its FCC regulation.

Oh Lord. I can't remmy all those numbers, and I like keeping my home phone number. With 3 kids, I can only absorb so much new technology, and at my age it isn't easy. Oh well, I remmy my social, my drivers license #, home phone & addy, my boys teachers & my 2 email addys......And of course, my passwords at the bank, web sites, etc. .....Damn, isn't that enuf?...What more can they want?...At the rate technology is going, the last thing for me to memorize will be my state hospital inmate # for the loonies on buggs bunny avenue.....Give me a break, pls.?

Ahhh gee...Ok I guess I'll go ahead...*sigh*

LOL, completely understood. The problem is that the machine does not understand anything. They only take instruction and follow it precisely, no buts, no flexible no ands no nothing.

It applies to cell phone in hearing world. If a family has 5 cell phone, there will be 5 phone numbers for all 5 cell phones, one for each.

You can always use this way

Home: your SVP number
Secondary: Your SIPrelay #

that way if hearing person calls you using your SVP and no answer, then can call secondary and you MIGHT be on the road and your Sidekick will get you so get connected. Like I said Machine do not understand anything, meaning machine will NOT know where to reach you until one use right number to reach you.

you mean siprelay as local number can use on svp to call deaf to deaf? not just bb,sidekick or relay?

They are different kind of machines, you can't mix it together. Has to be same kind of machine in both ends.

Its like trying to call to FAX machine from TTY, this won't work. Also like trying to call from TTY to VP, this won't work either, same with Voice to fax won't work, Voice to TTY directly without relay won't work.

What I mean is like call this number, no answer then try another number.

FCC regulation prohibits from using more than one relay service for each call at any time. In other word, FCC does not allow Siprelay to SVRS to customer.

Sorenson is dirty, they say if I do not register their 10 digit number, then I would not able to use their service and they will shut down my VP-200 though MAC address. So I register anyway. I have Purple number and i711 Relay number is good enough for me. Like FCC say, we can use one 10 digit number for all Relay service. In order for that to work...they will need to port the number.
