Ok, So what do you do when you are stressed out to the max? Read a book?, Take a long walk? Eat ice cream?

I am curious what and how each person deals with their stressors of the day. :wave:

I like to get massages. Had one tonight and will get another one this weekend sometime.

Having a bath :giggle: or just relaxing in front of the TV... sometimes a walk also helps ;)

oooooooo angry sex mmmmmmmm lol :naughty:

Me.. all I have to do is look at my greyhounds in the house, see them looking at me with so much love, trying to put their noses in my hands to let me know nothing can be so bad when you've got a loyal friend for life that will never judge you :giggle:

That really helps my stress levels to go down! :D

I'm rarely stressed out.

I never really needed to relieve my stress.

I usually recommend people to do things that takes their mind off their stress.

- go to the mall
- play a game
- take a walk

At the mall, you see a lot of things and eventually forget what you were stressed about.

While taking a walk, you observe your surroundings and see things (cars or people passing by, birds, trees, sky, clouds, etc) and forget what you were stressed about.

:)

long hot soaking bath!

Swimming,

anything to do with water. absolutely love the oceans and lakes. soothing and calming to me.

to help relieve stress, i do one of the following:

* prepare a nice meal or dessert for myself

* go for a long walk

* listen to soft music

* watch a favorite tv documentary

* run on my treadmill

* talk to a friend on the phone or by e-mail

* write in my bipolar mood chart/journal

* read a good book

* listen to talk radio

* surf internet message boards/forums to help and support others

* take a 15 minute nap

My stress relief, if I am stressed. I would do:

  • Go for a swim/surf.
  • Go for a long walk on beach/forest.
  • Walk around at the mall.
  • Talk to my close friends.
  • Watch a DVD movie.
  • Read a book.
  • Go for a long walk.
  • Have a hot chocolate with marshmallow.

I used to be an emotional eater when I got stressed out so you guys are learning something about me that I don't usually share with people.

I've lost a lot of weight & greatly reduced clothes sizes and now able to shop only in Walmart.

My stress relievers are candlemaking, quilting, beading and best of all... cuddling with my furrykids.

Whenever I'm stressed out - I do things like reading a book or two. Most of all, my favorite thing to do while being stressed out is to take a long hot bubble bath with the room full of candles; only to let the aroma set in. It's definitely relaxing and a stress buster.

Another thing is -- to write poems or bunch of mumbo jumbos dotted on the paper. Not a lot of people know this but I do like to doodle. I guess it's just a way for me to relieve the stress.

Oh and, also - Do you know the bubble package wrapping material that various carriers use to protect your stuffs while being shipped? Well, This may be weird but whenever I get a bubble package wrapping - I just like to pop all those bubbles all day long. :)

i should mention that all of the stress reducing techniques i shared were given to me by my therapist. i've found all of them to be helpful whenever i'm stressed or moderately manic.

I know guys' answers, I think they afraid to answer.

For me,

  • Play game
  • Create visual effect
  • Watch DVD
  • A long walk by river or cemetery
  • Read graphic novels

Wow... Walks seem to be on almost everyone relief list!

I like to go to the barn. (When don't I) If I had a really really bad day, I will ride my older gelding. I can just ride and not think. It's all automatic.

If I'm angry, I clean extra stalls. I don't tend to work the horses if I'm angry. I don't want to pick a fight for no reason. It wouldn't be fair to them.

I also like to go to the mall. Browse and people watch.

Sewing and drawing also relieve some of my stressors :giggle:

Whenever my wife loves to watch the fish swimming around in the fish tank that makes her very relaxing and going to sleep! That's good to relieve the stress by watching them swimming around! =O)

i forgot to mention that i like punching my bed pillows if i'm *really* stressed. :giggle:

taking my sleep med to sleep it off also works. (which my psychiatrist has given me permission to do since stress can cause mania and/or depression)
