Hiya!
No i'm not happy with my earmolds at all...that's why i'm looking to get my full canal molds elsewhere. i was told that's what i needed...and she didn't do what she recommended in getting me them. so it's time to do it myself since i can't trust my audi anymore.
thanks...my favorite color is black so i was really excited to find that they came in that color! my hair is such a dark brown that the regular brown ones would have stood out like a sore thumb heh! even though i don't like wearing them, i like the fact they represent a part of who i am (with the color) if people do have to see them lol!
i'm debating as to what color ear mold to get though...

Don't say full canal. You want "full shell" It fills the whole ear bowl and won't whistle bad like in the canal.

perfect! thank you! I didn't know what the terminology was to use to try to explain what I wanted...thank you thank you thank you!!! full shell...have to remember that!
if i have a choice, would you recommend soft molds or hard molds?

Soft for more severe losses. They usually say can't use hard if a bad loss. Some people have hard, but soft are much better I think. I have no choice I have to have soft.

If you're not happy with it. then earmolds return to audiologist and make a different earmolds that you need to custom.

It happened to me before. When I was 14 years old. I got a pink clear instead clear. I saw the gold ring in tube. I didn't like it. I felt the whistle real loud. I returned it back to audiologist to make a new earmold. I told her it's my custom of earmold not audiologist's custom of my body.

I suggest you to tell audiologist. "I want to custom a color of earmolds what i pick a match or favorite color" And also shape of earmolds that you want full shell or skeleton shell instead of destiny.

Guess what? I am going to pick my new earmolds up tomorrow.

Yeah! I picked a clear color because invisible the skin. I used to picked a color of bright blue, and other bright blue and white marble. I had a clear pink and when it get old will be orange. I didn't like it. It was old in 90's. I like the style and fashion today! I am looking forward for next decade. :giggle:

**hugs** thank you so much!
i was thinking of maybe a clear blue or silver...or just a frosted white...i have no idea actually LOL!
heh that's so funny about looking towards the fashion of the next decade...i'm curious too!!!

if you have small ear canals like i do, you might want to think twice about soft earmolds. when i tried using them, i experienced ALOT of pain while inserting and removing them. they also used to fall out of my ears easily and the only way i could keep them in was to apply ointment.

lucite (hard) earmolds tend to last longer than soft earmolds and if you are allergic to earmolds like i am, you might want to try hypoallergenic earmolds instead.

also, in regards to full vs. half shell earmolds, i've always worn skeleton earmolds (which only line the outer edge of your ear) because of frequent ear infections related to full shell earmolds. it is said that full shell earmolds are best for people with severe, severe-profound or profound losses because they help eliminate feedback, but i never had problems with feedback when i used skeleton earmolds despite the fact that i had profound loss in my left ear and severe-profound loss in my right.

I think it is going to come down to individual feelings. I have ear canals the size of a three year old, and soft earmolds are all I can wear. And since whistling is her main problem the skeletons are probably going to just waste more of her money.

It's fitted and comfortable. I saw the Oticon colors. I played with it and tried on clear and dark pink. I really like clear one. I took a picture. I asked to audiologist about color BTE. I am jealous of the pediatric fittings. I would love penguins on a hearing aid!

Are you jealous about what?

At the site you showed, for the kids aids at the top, there are some with penguins.

There probably would not be much adult demand to buy them, but I really like the ones with penguins.

Yeah! I really like the pink with flowers, camo, Silver and pink and other brown with pink flowers. I love it! I wish I could have a new BTE but I decide to get a CI. I have to wait. I prefer to pick a color clear BTE with coils. There is not available for now.

If I have a deaf child. I would love to let child pick a colors BTE and earmolds than an old fashion beige HA. :giggle:
