As a Cove Keeper managing 11 beach cottages, each with their own theme, I have one cottage that is affectionately called, "The Goddess Cottage" and is popular with the lesbian community. Womyn pictures, womyn power, etc, etc.

Anyway, I am going to be doing maintenance work on that particular cottage in a couple of weeks, painting, general electrical wiring, etc.

The one issue is what color is associated with the Goddess, especially a lesbian goddess.

So...lesbian sisters, help me out here, what colors are associated with it????

Purple? Pink?

My best suggestion would be to go with the natural color selection, not "lesbian color".

Different colors have different psychological effects on people depending on the color and where they're used.

Thank you for the response! I was beginning to wonder if the lesbian community didn't have a voice....

We want to keep this theme with this cottage because this used to be a lesbian only- clothing optional business. We want the lesbians to continue to come back here and many request the same cottage. History wise.

Yes, different colors mean different things and I am trying to find out what is the "Lesbian color" that you mentioned.

I'm thinking of periwinkle...

Well, I'm not a lesbian or a woman... I'm a straight guy. However, I do understand what you are trying to do.

I am just speaking from experience. I've taken art classes and art history. I've also taken psychology courses where art and color was brought up on several occasions. In both cases, the only thing that most people talked about as "gay colors" or "lesbian colors" was rainbows. There were a few gay/lesbian classmates who brought up that topic and the most common response was that there wasn't one... just natural colors as I mentioned related to psychology and moods.

Making it a lesbians-only thing might be a bit unfair to those who are not lesbians. What if you had a week or two where there were no requests from lesbians and the place turned away non-lesbians. You would be turning away other potential customers.

You're probably better off using feng shui and color psychology for a more comfortable environment.

Have you thought of leaving a comment book for your customers? It would allow customers to leave comments on their experience. Is there anything they want improved or changed? These notes could be filed for future reference towards improving the place.

For instance, one lesbian couple might suggest a statue of a nude woman in the middle of the living room. If you felt that this might be a turn-off for non-lesbian customers, you could buy a light non-fragile statue that can be easily placed or removed before customers come. Another lesbian customer might prefer more pink drapes and a non-lesbian customer might prefer more maroon drapes. Those can be easily exchanged before the customer visits.
