I have never tried RWC, CV or USL. I prefer open captioned. I have heard not good things about RWC, CV and USL.

I agree with you but sadly more theaters provide CV now so hearing audiences can watch a movie without open captions in the same location where deaf audiences have to use the device to read captions.

I have an idea.

How about open captions all the time on all movies. If hearing people don't want to view the captions, they have to wear special glasses (like the 3-D movie glasses) that would filter out the captions. :D

I wish but the theaters would not like the idea because most hearing audiences won't go.

I noticed that fewer deaf people go to watch open-captioned movies so I guess maybe that's why more theaters provide CV instead.

BTW, at my workplace, there's a TV with CC in the breakroom but sometimes someone (a hearing co-worker) turns CC off while deaf workers are not there. CC is supposed to be left on all the times because we have several deaf employees. Obviously some of hearing people at work hate CC.

I when to my ENT doctor and they have a TV in the waiting room , the volume was very low and there was no CC on ! The office has a lot of patients that are HOH . I told woman at the front desk that of all the doctors office you would think there would be CC on TV and the woman said , on yeah , and that she would tell the office manger. The next time I when the CC where on TV,. I have a hearing friend that said she would not like having CC at movie theaters, I would rather be able to hear better and not
need CC , but I am sure glad we have CC!

Is there any way of contacting Youtube so that I can tell them that their captioning software !@#%)&(* SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????? It functions like it's designed only to recognize about 5 different voices, and you're screwed if the character is Australian.

I think the easiest way to solve all this is simply get stem cell therapy (gotta make this possible first, though).

I believe that Google owns YouTube so try contacting Google instead. I know its captioning system sucks and someone here in another thread said it will never be perfect.

none of the videos on yahoo have captions either. I sent in a few complaints months ago but still nothing *grumbles*

I'd be perfectly happy if it were the other way around. ;)
That would be a great invention... they did 3D, now some of you smart people here get to work on this...

In reality, it will NEVER happen, you know that.

...and why not? 3D was invented you know. ;0
If you talked about special glasses to filter out the captions, it will never happen but it can happen IN YOUR DREAM. What's wrong with the technology we have today? We are still watching how well speech recognition technology (which is still in Beta test) works. Hopefully, it will become 100% successful someday before our death.

Yeah, right! Never mind...
I didn't mean to tell you to never mind my previous comments. I left a new message and then changed my mind so I tried to delete it but it didn't work so I cut it and typed "never mind" since I made another post in my new thread instead of here. Hope you know what I am talking about. Deleting a comment is impossible here.

OK, my sincere apology...
