Has any1 had to use a friend for asl support cos system refuses to provide sign support?

In the US, that is illegal, they have to provide an interpreter. I don't know about NZ though.

This is a re-post...
As I said in the same thread in the Education section: I had a moderate-profound loss most of my life and went 6 years without hearing aids or sign support in school and I was fine. Not saying that is true of everyone but with a mild loss... Actually Etoile who responded to this too is an interpreter with a hearing loss herself!
