Some of my favorite shows are on CBS and the Closed Captioning either doesn't work or its seriously delayed, anyone else having this problem?

I would advise you to call your local television station to let them know about problems you are having.

I noticed the same thing. It seems to happen every time a new scene starts, CC is not only delayed but accelerates to catch up and then CC is fine for the rest of this same scene. But when the next new scene starts, CC is messed up again the exact same way.

I have contacted my local station before and they have been very courteous. Looks like I will have to contact them again.

My wild guess is they are using voice-recognition to caption. Unfortunately, they did
not bother to train the voice-recognition, but train as you go. Hence it is awful in the
beginning, but improve over time due to training.

sometimes i watch news and its diffcult problems with CC but its ok but im setup CC all the times and never shown up on CC i never understand why!

but im learn how off CC on my tv

my MAJOR complaint with CBS is they aint got CC on internet videos while ABC NBC and FOX have CC on them.

Its like CBS 1980s deja vu ugh....

in my location, there is problem on CBS and CW, that's it. They're crap me out.

I watched CSI Las Vegas tonight and the captioning was delayed by at least 5 seconds

Anyoen else??

I saw CSI last night. It was not delayed but at about every three or four sentences of CC displayed, it would skip a sentence or two. Pretty annoying.

CBS has been pretty bad for the last few months. Here locally (St. Louis area) all of my captioning is pretty bad, but I guess I'll live. When I contact the local stations, they say it's due to the HD transition or the cable company I use (Charter).

My pet peeve about CC's is that sometimes they go by too fast!

It's almost like one is taking a class on speed reading.

I notice this when I watch Jay Leno! The CC are really delay and made it hard to read them! I have notice there been a lot mistake in spelling lately! there was a story about the storm making the waves powerful and the CC said the "waves were Catholic on the shore'" ! I think it was meant to say "crashing on the shore!" I was like what the hell are they talking about!

I call the station when the CC do not come in something they're working on it or have no idea their CC is not working! I watch Channel 7 a lot . I hate when the weather reports does not have CC or the news! And the CC are way to fast and I hate where they are place on TV! Some time the CC are right across the people faces! This bug me and to think people spend all that time trying to look good before going on TV and they end up words running across their faces the whole time!

As we speak here, I am watching ABC AFV the captions are just little white boxes with nothing in them. Lucky it is just action anyway.

Yeah same here.. i noticed CSI Miami tend to cause CC problem, delay missing some words...

A candidate is running for Ted Kennedy's seat in Ma. I was thinking of voting for the guy until I notice he has no CC on his adds on TV. I called up his office and ask why Mike Capuano has no CC , if it was an oversight or that he does not care about deaf and HOH people. I was told that Mike worked with the ADA for deaf and HOH! Mike worked with ADA and he has no Close
Captioning on his TV adds! I was told it was an oversight that there were no CC . I wonder why Mike is really involve with ADA if he can't remember to have CC on his TV adds!
