Shortage of Interpreters in Western Norway

I thought I would pass this on.. sorry, no link. It is very hard getting interpreters where I live, Møre og Romsdal (Ålesund), and you are basically screwed if you have to order one for an appt next day. This is what I have experienced and heard from local interpreters. The interpreters are great, but there are too few of them.

Norway definitely needs more interpreters! Of course, not ASL.. but norwegian sign language. In case any of you were interested in relocating, you'd definitely have a job. LOL

How many interpreters in area where you live?

I only know that we have around 20 interpreters around Bavaria which is not much but North Germany?

Yes we need more interpreters, too... We have some interpreters who are moviate to learn but the problem is money... Fewers struggle to pay the fee to learn sign language at class due unemployment. No wonder why we have few interpreters...

My opinion, they should learn sign language an early at school if they are interesting and see either they are moviate or not...

Thank you for those link... Your link hit my head because I have which one in my favorite list, too. I haven't touch it for a long time because I depend on same interpreter who lives 10 minutes drive away from my home.

I was surprised when I saw updated in list of interpreters around Bavaria...It's more than my estimate 20 interpreters...

The list of Interpreters for Bavaria only.

GIB.: Dolmetscherliste

Nearest my area is 7 interpreters.
