Question Looking for Interpreters - Toronto, ON (Canada)

Hi everyone!

I'm new around here, but you seem to be a great group... I hope you can help me

I'm organising an event in Toronto, ON (Canada) on September 21-22, 2007, and I am looking for English-ASL interpreters. There will be both hearing and Deaf participants, and it would be much better to have a few interpreters, rather than using pen-and-paper all day.

Anyone is interested?

Please visit our website for more information on our event.

Sue Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention

Have a nice day!

Katerie

This is not a good place to look for interpreters for hire since we post here from all over the country. You'd be better off trying a local interpreting agency. My first hit from a Google search produced this...

CHS | Ontario Interpreter Services

...so I'm sure you could find more if you looked a little more. Good luck with your event!

They stated they are new here, but you never know interpreters do surf around here as well. I would not have known about this event if it weren't for the posting. I would love to have that experience to be in a different country I am an interpreter.

Which is why I posted what I did.

It's always better to go to a local interpreting agency with these kinds of requests than to simply sit around and hope someone from your area might surf over to this website. If an event is going to need interpreters it should be arranged for in a professional manner with plenty of notice and AllDeaf just isn't the best venue for that. It's best to post here looking for referrals to local resources, like the one I provided.

There is no reason for people not to know this about the site.
