I noticed that there are not many projects up on kickstarter with closed captions. So when we put up our project, I decided I will definitely put closed captions on ours. It can't be that hard right? Well….they don't make it easy.

Kickstarter doesn't have support for closed captions, so it can only posted as an embedded video not as the main pitch video - they have their own web player for that.

If you do embedded video you can link a youtube video you previously created with Closed captions. So this is what we did.

What is really cool I found that once you do that, youtube's closed caption player can translate it to many different languages without you having to do the work.

So if you are interested check out our project here:

The closed captioned video is under the update tab.

I wish they would make it easier for film makers to do this. It literary took me about a whole week to figure things out and to create the closed caption file.

I think this is important. Any thoughts?

I can only imagine how much work is required to caption a video, especially a long one. I believe that captions (CC & Subtitles) on DVD/BD movies and TV shows are professionally done by using a shorthand equipment.

Stenotype - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In other words, unless you have that kind of equipment with experience, there's nothing "they" (whoever you talked about) can do to make it easy for you.
