First time posting.

Is there anyone here that has graduated from an ITP in Michigan and would be willing to talk about their experience?
I'm new to the state and don't know where to find people to talk to. All the programs say they are the best of course.

If you have any information I'd be so grateful!

:welcome:

Sorry, my ITP was in SC.

What part of MI?

I go to Deaf social nights at a mall on Tuesdays close to Grand Rapids area. I go anywhere from 2 to 4 times a month. I know a lot of interpreter students. If you want or need my help, let me know.

:) Thanks, I actually was going to go once I got my MI license. Probably the best place to ask about ITP's. Do you have an opinion about any of the programs?

Few of them have taken ASL classes at Grand Valley State
University. Some of them even come from Lansing to interact. I heard that LCC in Lansing was one of the best schools for interpreter students.

Those days, I see more Interpreter students than deaf people at mall. There is also event at Woodland mall once a month. Same thing with a coffee place once a month.

Thank you so much for the info! ^_^
I've also heard that LCC was a good program for getting an associates. There are two bachelors programs closer to Detroit but I haven't met anyone who has graduated from one.

Derek, if you know what time and date the meetup at Woodland Mall takes place, I would be so thankful. It would be closer for me than Rivertown.

Hi Lydia! I'm starting an ITP in MI next week, actually. I'm happy to give you my thoughts as I go along.

I believe it takes place on 4th Saturday every month. I personally know the guy who plans those events. He sends invitations via Facebook.

That's great! Congratulations first of all for starting something so exciting, and secondly which one?

If it's alright with you, I want to pm you with my email.

Yeah, that'd be fine! Probably easier. ;) And thank you! I'm BEYOND excited.

There is a requirement of a certain number of posts (I have forgotten how many) before you can use the PM feature and grlnxtr does not have enough.

Thank you for that explanation! I was wondering why I couldn't find that feature. :)
