on Ion TV on Comcast cable I use channel 15 to watch this. I have called and left messages explaining this and nothing been done. I could send an email but Iron want your DOB , name ,address and phone # . I do not see what my date has to with anything. Is Comcast responsible for the CC working right or the TV station ? I am getting this on TV 'rhytudz ' and it madding .

Probably the TV station first (though if it's right with them, it may then be Comcast's responsibility... my dad works for a TV station and might know but I can't ask him now). Ion may want your DOB just to confirm you're over 13?

Blame it on that bogus intrepretor....j/k....annoying, yes..... and it's happened to me also.

I do not see why they need my DOB and name to fix the CC. And the CC is still not working. It would be interesting to see what your dad say.

My dad said (as I thought it was) that CC problem fixing is the responsibility of the TV station... unless it's a problem with the cable company.

Basically, my dad said it's something that he (he's an engineer) could fix until (and sometimes including) transmission to cable/satellite services, but anything that happens between the cable company and the TV is the cable company's problem. (For instance, our Comcast provider used to not transmit captioning on the channel he works for, but that wasn't something he could technically fix on his end because they were sending the caption part of the broadcasts to the cable company.)

I have called the TV stations 3 times and they never called or fix their CC . Comcast will not do anything , they said it's the TV station problem . We do not have Verizon cable in my city , I could have a Dish put up but my condo might what we take it down . I spoke the new manger he could careless about my CC not working. I own my condo , the new manger just is not very bright . Thank you for asking your dad. I will try calling the station again , you don't get a live person you have to leave a message and you know what that mean. They'll call you back if they feel like it!

I personally have always hated phone communication with someone I don't know... even through answering machine. :P I'm the "agressive email" type.

The TV station want my personal info , like DOB , names, phone # if I send an email . I see no reason to need my DOB and name to fix the CC.

The CC are working tonight! I have no idea how long this will last but it sure is nice to be able read the CC and be trying to guess what the CC are saying.

Cable companies stink. I'll bet if customers weren't getting audio they wouldn't be asking everyone's DOB and other personal info just to give them the run around - they'd fix it....

Glad to hear it's finally working for you....

One local TV station only on my Time Warner cable was no CC on all TV programs since yesterday. I had send Twitter compliant to my local station to fix CC system this morning. Finally got CC.

I am able to get a live person when I call some station but not ION TV , I am not sure if the CC where fixed because I called or if they got more complains .

I've seen this on satellite before. And I never got anywhere with finger pointing between TV station and satellite.

I have local station channel 66 which has 10:00 PM news but it never worked right. When I view them via aerial (antenna), the CC comes through fine. But if I turn to satellite to watch 66, the caption comes in like DFHDKJ HGKJJDH JHJK HKUITUPOJSKL WDE OOPSS

Satellite says it's TV problem. TV says since it worked fine on my TV via antenna, it's satellite problem. :hmm:

instead of giving your birthdate - say you are over 21 yrs. perhaps they are trying to weed out false calls. if captions is garbled only on one channel all day -I'd call the tv service provider to check the line quality going to the tv you are having issues with. it happened to me - they hooked up a line generator size of a pen at the suspect tv connection and checked the quality at the splitter area where main line comes into the house. The tech ended up putting new connectors on it and upped the signal strength coming into the house.

I tried calling the TV station 3 times and they there called back , you do not get a live person anymore . The CC are coming scrambled again . Comcast said it's not their problem that is the TV station problem and FCC said it's Comcast problem and no one does anything to fix the CC!

ok so its not just me and my old lame wore out tv lol yes it is soooo annoying!!!!!!!

I also hate when the CC gets way behind the audio then skips parts of whats being said to catch up.....

are we not important or something

ION always seems to have issues with captions or have zero captions- I've seen it with different providers- Time Warner and Comcast come to mind as the most recent ones.

I been having trouble with other stations now.

I had the captions stop working on all channels a couple of weeks ago. I went to online chat on comcast. They tried to say it was my TV, but I'm not stupid. I tested it on other TVs as well. Nothing. Then they finally sent a signal (reset??) to my cable box. Boom! captions started working an hour later after resetting the cable box. (Unplug for a minute then re-plug it in).
