A funny video of an interpreter

Here is a link to watch a funny video clip that demonstrates what a sign language interpreter experiences in an encounter with individuals who are ignorant of the Deaf culture!

I have see it many times on DeafTV. Yes, it is ignorant and audism what the teacher does not understand that the student or students need interpreter to help them understand what is going on in the classroom. The teacher does not get it at the end of it. **sigh**

That video is F* hilarious. That dead-pan voice. I suppose if you put a British accent on it, that would be about right for a British person, especially a British announcer on BBC News.

Neither one was captioned which is incredibly ironic, considering this forum, and the topic of the video. I think it's a tad offensive. If we were to ask what was said in the video would we be told, "Oh, it's not important"?

I know this isn't the same as captions but there is an interactive transcript available. On the tool bar below the video, click on the "interactive transcript" button and it opens up.

I checked some of the other videos from the interpreter series, and they do include captions if you click the button.

Wow. I was on my phone, and figured that if someone clicked on it and went to the You-Tube site that CC would be available, as it's available for many of the videos on the site. No need to get all uptight about it.

Not only that, CSign, youtube captioning doesn't work with most people's speech. You should see how far off the speech recognition algorithms get.

I wasn't. In your quote as to why I understand that I see others did complain. I was making a statement this so everyone would know that they are not alone when they dont get CC.

Wow. Nice attitude on a deaf forum. Take a mere 30 seconds and check to see if cc's are available.

Thank you. However, when I try to click on "interactive transcript" nothing happens. Now I see that I was wrong about the first video.
