I don't know what it is, about me but sometimes when i chat with deaf (especially those i don't know very well) I get a sudden case of the nerves. Others might handle it differently, perhaps by slowing down or carefully choosing their signs but not me. Nope. When I get nervous I ramble on.
I say stupid, nonsensical things in a frantic effort to fill up the gaps in conversation. I do this alot in english too but at least there's no worry there about anything getting lost in traslation. Bugs the heck outta me. 
Can't wait until I pass this stupid phase.
