Insurance

YAHOO!!! i just got notice that the insurance is covered for the cochlear implant procedure. Now I can get really excited!!!!!!! I am thrilled that I didn't have to worry so much about that issue. I can now focus on the real neat stuff that is about to happen. Today I go for the menigitis shot and next week is the physical and the week after next is surgery!!! It is coming fast. Now I need to focus on having everything I need to have completed in work, home and children prior to surgery so all...

...in my ASL journey. It's funny how these things happen so very slowly until BAM!! It hits you that you've actually progressed. I had a revelation and it feels pretty dern good.

Slangs and other words in ASL

Have you ever wanted to say certain words in Sign and didn't know how to say them? Well, this is what this blog is for! I thought it would be cool to share words with others. Like the word "Bit*h. By putting the "B" shaped hand on the chin and moving it forward. Or the word "Bastar*." Where you put the "B" sign on the forehead and move it forward. Swear words an be funny! day after appointment

Well, yesterday My husband and I met with the audi to select colors and stuff for the implant. I was amazed at the choices and things available. I chosed the larger processor in order to get both rechargable batteries and disposable batteries. I never realized the care that an implant requires such as using the dry kit..replace mircophone processor cover.. coil replacement... use of a variety of cables...it is just simply amazing...I now have new questions for my audi such as demagnatizing...

Help me decide which hearing aid to purchase

Hi,
I am new to this website and hope someone can help me decide which hearing aid to purchase.

I have seen 2 audiologists and 1 tells me to purchase the oticon epoq v and the other tells me the Phonak Naida is better for my hearing loss which is severe. Both are very expensive, the epoq v doesn't have to have a special mold fitted in the ear which I like, however I am told since I need "power" that I should forget the "bells and whistles" of the Oticon...
