WTF, vintage tractor without electric starter, the uneducated workers weight down the front of a tractor. Crazy. Sad story of the tractor.

That's mighty hard on clutch. Bet he'll have to replace clutch and perhap replace worn gears too. I bet it's hard to find parts for antique tractors unless he bought a spare one.

that's not suit pants. and jeans is very expensive in India - usually reserved for upper/middle class. What they're wearing is their normal clothes.

Wirelessly posted (Samsung Captivate (i897))

Tons of antique tractors here in cornland, USA. Lots of John Deere as well.

John Deere is only one that made in the USA. I saw a small John Deere tractor toy at a horse supply store, and it cost about 60 dollars something. I felt that it is a rip-off. But, it is interesting to know about it that's all.

If this tractor toy is diecast model size abt 8 inch long, it should be around $60.
I think I have one dwarf diecast JD tractor somewhere in my garage. This package is never open when someone gifted my son's birthday then I took it and hide it many years ago.

Wow! I hope that you still remember where you hide it since then. Don't let the mouse chews the package in your garage.

LoL. I don't think it was crazy if they had a higher geared ratio to pull better. They need suitcase weights on the front to prevent flip ups. They don't even have ROPS so that is a major no no here in USA. (sorry i am a tractor guy)

Cool that you drive a tractor! We have a Kubota with a loader and a backhoe for our small farm. I will have to learn how to drive it this summer. My father loves it. It does not have a 3-point hitch. I bought a York raker that needs the hitch. Bummer! It's hard for us to find a cheaper price to buy the 3-point hitch. I was told that it cost 800 bucks.

This thread reminded me of Michigan. My grandfather had a dairy farm from after WWII until early 1970's. As a kid a JD was what I learned to drive way before getting my drivers license at 16:

http://www.gallentine.org/tractors/B40-2.jpg

To start it, you had to turn over the large flywheel on the side. It took a strong man. Fortunately they had a hill near the barn where he parked two of them. You just released the brake and rolled down until you got enough speed and let out the clutch. If it did not start by the time you reached the bottom, I heard it from my dad

JD's sounded like a thumping Harley.
