Ever run out of gas?

Frugal drivers don't top off tank, run out of gas

For me, I almost did, luckily I made it to the pump when the needle went below "E". That was the time I used 1981 Jeep Cherokee, yup the known gas guzzlers. That's the only time I was very close to run out.

Any of you has ever run out of gas before?

Me neither, whenever I really ran out of gas, the gas station is right there.

I have once, when I had the Holden Commodore, it wasn't on purpose. I was running on LPG, and it ran out when I was driving on the way home and that was the same day when the fuel got stolen. It was impossible for them to get the LPG but how? Impossible!

For your verification what LPG Tanks are look like.

Nope, I never ran out of gas before. I was kind of pretty close of running out of gas a few times before, though. I had around 0.6 gallons left in the tank.

From what I hear, if you run out of gas in an engine with fuel injection, you will be in a world of hurt!

It has happened to me a few times when I was in high school, but never again.

Today, I almost always fill my car up completely every time I go to the gas station. I will sometimes put $20 worth if I don't have enough for a full tank, but usually fill it up.

I never ran out of gas, but the closest of running out of the gas at the time I was at another town and that town gas station was closed so early (winter night). So had like 1/4 gas left in the tank and had 50 minutes to drive home.

I did made it home fine without filling up the gas as it was nearly to empty.

Next day I did fill it up as there is 2 gas stations near by my old home town like 5 minutes drive.

I had to let gas run out on my car when Empty signal first appear. So, I able to remember how much miles left on "empty" while I carry 1 gallon of gas with me. Bingo, then you will able to be prepare to know how much miles you have to drive before reach gas station

Well, you will still get different results with that one gallon. First, what were the conditions like when you were down to the last gallon? Subsequent "last gallons" will vary by the conditions experienced....such as hills, wind, use of the AC, etc, etc.

So when don't take unnecessary chances.

It's fortunately, I live in flat city. I take as general number of miles. So, no problem.

It hasn't happened to me yet but I've got couple of close call.

I remember at one time, I was needing gas for the car. It was on a empty tank and I just had pulled over into the gas station lot. The car started to sputter. It was at the right timing because by the time I got to the pump, the gas had ran out. Whew!
