I need vent!!!

Last week, My truck was in service for four days and find out what s wrong that sometime won't start!!! BUT They find nothing wrong with my truck

As a result, Today I was late for college class that I have hard time start my truck! .... so I have to press the gas then its will start but my boyfriend warned me Don’t touch gas while start it because my truck has fuel injection? :dunno2: So Called the Service and send truck back on this Thursday! :(:(

My truck is 2005 and only about 45K mileage :(

What area of the country are you in? Is it cold where you are?
Does it not start in the morning, but will start in the afternoon?

Your BF is right about not pressing the pedal to the floor while starting. In a fuel-injected truck, pressing the pedal will bypass the choke. If the choke is your problem, the shop may need to replace a sensor.

so Could I tell my dodge to replace new Sensor? What if they say not need replace? :dunno2:

Your truck is probably made in China. Just kidding.

Check the battery with your volt-meter that meet 12 volts, not far less than 12 volts. Ask your friend about the volt-meter. If the battery is low, two things that you have to check:

(1) Look at the top battery box and to see any form of white? dried acid around the two metal rods. If yes, then wear your gloves and safety glasses. (Don't touch the dried acid with your hands.)

(a) Unplug the cables (one at a time).

(b) Mixed with baking soda with warm water, and pour on the rod. Wait for about 5 to 10 minutes.

(c) Wash off the acid with water.

(d) Wipe the rods with a paper towel.

(e) I use a small wire brush to brush around the two connectors "rings" for a better or fresh connection.

(2) If there is no acid on the rods, then you need to tighten the cable connectors due the motor vibrations.

Try start up your motor.

------

If the motor is not running, then, unfortunately, you will need to buy a new starter because I think that the "teeth" part of the starter is worn out. Or, buy a rebuilt starter for a cheaper. It's your choice.

Note: Usually, the battery dies in 5 years.

------

After you solved the problem, your truck will be a Super Monster Truck! :eek3:

P.S. One problem, I don't remember the name of the water level tool to check the water acid for your battery. When you open the plastic square caps, make sure the water is near fill up very careful. First, you need to find out how much acid in the battery. I can't help this one. I hate that part because it is risk like any small acid might land my face from opening the cap or close it. I think my truck's battery is sealed that cannot be opened. Maybe, you don't need to check the water level if it is about 3 years old.

Thanks.. I will copy this and bring note to dodge on thursday ... LOL about made in China  ;):):)

Do you have a warranty for your truck? It should covers it all if you do. I would have it take to professional shop if the truck is newer. I am not taking my car to cheap auto shop no more after what they did to my car twice. They destroyed my beautiful V8 engine on my '95 Pontaic Grand Am!!!! They just wanted your money. Grrr....

Hope webexplorer have solved your problem. *fingercrossed* Or could tune up or loose spark plugs? It happened to my hubby's car 2001 Cheverolt Cavalair when his car refused to start, then start later on...weird...

Yea lucky my monster truck had fully warranty :D

You know its very pain in ass to take a truck to services at Dodge only! ( its 3rd times )

Last week Truck was in service for 4 days.. I was little panic and see my horse s hay almost run out! I have a rental tiny car with two doors. :squint:

Are you saying that you still have the warranty? You said "had."

Someone at the garage will ask you if you ever change anything in your truck, you just say that you haven't touch anything and no knowledge about it. That will cover your full warranty. I'm glad that restless_heart brought up that question.

My two sisters ordered them on the phone, and a hay truck come and drop the bales off at their barn. Sometimes, my sisters have to drive and pick them up at the store once a while.

Don't forget the solenoid for starter. The climate can affect the way solenoid functions when starting the vehicle. I.E. When the solenoid is hot, it won't start the car. You would have to wait for about a hour or so and try restarting, it starts fine. Check on the solenoid to see if it's the problem.

Yes it is pain in the ass to take to your truck dealer, where u bought the truck. It is better that way and to be trusted than anywhere else because of the warranty. I have to go where I go only at my dealership. I have 7 years warranty plus lifetime free inspection or up to 70,000 miles.

Good luck!!! Hope it goes well...few weeks ago my hubby had warning light on and it was the part of emission...so it came out it was the computerized chip that was loose and wore out so he got a new one at no charge.

last years my mom's old car Buick Park Avenue got broke i dont know what wrong with that and felt like funny they found out something smell from whatsoevers they take to shop fix anywhere to fix that!

they later my mom called my dad about her old cars and cant going anywhere! SO my dad took my mom's old cars throw it! and my mom will lend my late grandma's cars to using that more best than late!

mostly people have problems with cars and trucks how long that will be?

Oh please! I live in north of USA and never put my car in the garage for many years. My battery is not replace for 7 years yet. My milesage is 130k milesage now. I always push gas to floor all times and don't make any problem so far. No problem for start the engine up after -10F to 10F from overnight. Thank to Japan.

Other word Hemi is joke and waste of gas. Dodge's non-hemi engine is better than Hemi for stable and mpg.

Yeah only if the cars made by japan they did a good job.. What car do you have? JAPAN FTW!! i love my DOHC 4 cylinder

it's only depends on the cars..

I had similar issue with my uncle's F-150 truck in last 2 month ago but different situation, I was drove to work for overnight until around morning then get out and start the truck and it won't run the engine the I called my uncle to get fixed but no lucky but he thought it was battery issue and it's not right after tried to replacing the new battery then won't work and end to towed to auto shop and found starter is bad then replaced into new starter.

only if you try to start it and you can feel the vibrates means it isnt about starter.. if no feeling with vibrates or cant hear anything it will be starter.
