Aquamaiden....Love that silver 2K1 Cavalier of yours......

During December 2000 when I was shopping for a new car to replace my 1994 Ford Ranger truck, I had a short list of cars to take the truck's place with the requirements that it be brand-new selling for less than $15,000. Also my other requirements were that it be a 2 door coupe with 5-speed stickshift. On that list was the 2K1 Chevy Cavalier, 2K1 Ford ZX2 Escort, 2K1 Ford Focus ZX3 and the 2K1 Mitsubishi Mirage Coupe. I test drove all the cars on my list and cut it down to the Cavalier and ZX2 Escort.

I considered trading the Ranger in for a silver 2K1 Cavalier like yours and I managed to find one like that at a Chevy dealer 2 miles from where I work. But somewhat 3 days after xmas the Ford dealer next door had thrown me a $1,500 rebate my way compared to the Chevy lot's paltry $500 rebate. So I ended up buying my 2K1 ZX2 Escort that night and took delivery of the car during my lunch break.

Strange every time I plan on buying a Chevy, I end up buying Fords instead....oh well!

True, heh, it's still running smoothly but I have had that car for almost 4 years and I feel like I should get a new car since I go home frequently on weekends (300 miles or more both ways, I go to college in PA and I reside in NJ)

would LOVE to own a Jeep Liberty

Hey, don't feel bad. Honda is a pretty good car. Now, a lot of cars are made with plastic covers so they don't rust easily. That's why today's cars last longer.

I agree with Vamp's comment. 1989 Honda Accord is better than 1989 Ford Escort. No offend taken for Ford Freaks.

Honda was my first choice when I was looking for cars. I guess I fell in love with Hondas when I first rode in a Honda with my Shibby - he still has the '95 Honda Civic. I did test drive this '97 Honda Civic - it was soooo awesome and smooth but damn mom don't want me to get it cuz the insurance happens to so high due to high list of theft so end up getting the cavalier but my next car shall be Honda!

I just totaled what kind of cars currently owned by members of AD (excluding cars owned by family members and cars sold/wrecked by AD members but mentioned in this thread) and here's the stats....really 258.

Ford 11 cars
Chevrolet 8 cars
Dodge 6 cars
Honda 5 cars
Jeep 5 cars
Toyota 4 cars
GMC 3 cars
Nissan 3 cars

and 1 each of the following:
Cadillac
Chrysler
Eagle
Hyundai
Kia
Mercury
Olds
Saturn
Suzuki

It doesn't surprise me that Fords are the most-bought and driven cars by Deafies since I know a lot of Deafies in my area frequently drive Fords more than any other brand with Chevy running a close second.

That makes me wonder why Ford despite the "Fix or Repair Daily" still end up being bought by Deafies a lot ....Theories, anyone? (That comes from a 7-time Ford/Mercury owner like me)

Nice statistics, sablescort.

I do believe any deafie with their last name's Ford is worst than any deafie own any Ford vehicle.
