Question Ssdi

I am doing a research paper on SSDI and I was wondering why a section of Deaf say that they do not have a disability but they still take SSDI?
Any comments are helpful.

Being deaf is considered a disability. Actually, deaf people can do anything if they set their mind to it. I understand if some deaf people take SSDI to help them with a few things but I don't think that they should be on it for too long.

Yup, deaf is deaf. SSDI required but me not get it because of my work income. Maybe in the future, I would need it.
