I have been with VESID for about a year and a half now. So far, I got help from my counselor to pay for driving lessons, little of my college's bill, and also helping me pay the rest of the owing fee situation. I do see good benefits of the program, the problem is short communication. I communicate to my counselor by emailing him and he's very slow when he replies back or takes a week or never replies back unless I send him another one.

I know they can help with jobs and I will be asking him to help me out after I graduate college and all.

So, what has VESID done for you to help out? What are your pros and cons of the program?

Lastly, my counselor doesn't say much in what he can do to help or what are the options. However, he has been somewhat satisfying in business and great help. I wouldn't have gotten my license without him either.

thats the way state funds go. its hard for them to justify every needs and wants . just take what you are given and be thankful. it will never be the same thing for all of you.

I find it very hard to believe on why VR won't cover all tuition cost. SMH. College/university education should be FREE to all disabled students, PERIOD! Any of you Deaf goonies preaching on how we should get students loan to cover your tuition and not to rely on tax payers' expense really need to look themselves in the fking mirror. Thanks Mitt Romney, you fk them up.

As you can see, a lot of hearing graduates are unable to find a job right now and it's staggering. Just because you have Schedule A doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get a job after college (it should have..... this is stupid). At this rate, a lot of disabled students will have a hard time finding a job and have a hard time paying off their student loan. If it was a direct loan, you may get it discharged due to the nature of your disability, as long it's a federal loan, not private.

I lost my job a couple of months ago due to downsizing. I won't be able to pay off my student loan in October (it's in forbearance now which should give me time to find jobs and etc). Once my forbearance expires, unable to find a job, no source of income, then I will apply for student loan discharge.

I am so sick of corporation. They're bloody sick, especially when Deaf people gets all of the grubby power and wants to be like hearing people in "Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan" style as saying, "I love to fire people!" Bloody Mary. **** it.
