My friend just bought a new rear tire. He brought over new tire in rim. He left it in my garage and haven't returned to get it installed. His concerned was the size 140 tire was a bit wide that cause chain to rub on side of tire. I told him just add a spacer between rim and sprocket to space out the chain from tire just 1/8th to 1/4th inches. I told him it won't hurt to do that. Originally his tire was size 130 but he decide to have a bit wider tire anyway. I also explained him that he can adjust the chain tensioner (at the end of swingarm where main wheel bolts w/ chain tensioner are) to tweak just a little off to give spacing between tire and chain which are tiny difference. Won't notice anything while riding. He ok'd with either or both choices. He had been "silent" for quite a while and haven't seen him on AIM. I would plan on to just buy spacers and install it for him and he'll pay me back anyway.
Hopefully he get his harley ready for inspection lol
