Hell's Kitchen 409

Episode 409

The teams gather in the dorms after eliminations. Matt apologizes to Corey for his poor performance and swears to do better. The men on the Blue team still have issues with Jen’s attitude.

In the morning, the teams gather in the kitchen to be challenged about timing. The teams will make three items from the menu, but only one chef can be in the kitchen at any time. Each chef will have six minutes in the kitchen, and only fifteen seconds to inform the next chef what is going on before they must switch. Blue team must choose three chefs, so Jen forces Louross out.

Petrozza and Matt start off. The teams are nervous because they can’t see what’s going on. The teams swap players, and Bobby and Christina head in. Corey watches from outside and squirms. Jen and Corey are up next and head into the kitchen. They’ll have to finish cooking and plate the entrees. Jen thinks Petrozza and Bobby left everything perfect, Corey however is scrambling.

Chef Ramsay calls time and the ladies serve their dishes. Chef asks for the scallops first. Red team is missing the salad, but Chef approves the dish. Chef Ramsay says that the Blue team’s scallops were raw. Red team scores one point.

Red team delivers their main course, which fails in presentation. Blue team doesn’t have sauce on theirs, but still scores the point. The teams are tied. The last dish is the chicken. Chef Ramsay loves both dishes, even though the Red team is missing the leeks, and the Blue team is missing the sauce. The winning team is the Red team. The Blue team puts the failure on Jen’s shoulders. The Red team is rewarded with a day at the beach. The Blue team stays behind to be the Hell’s Kitchen maintenance crew.

The Red team enjoys a day of surfing, but tension is growing on the Blue team between Bobby and Jen.

Before dinner service, Chef Ramsay announces that they will be getting rid of their standard menu. Instead, the teams will concoct three appetizers, three main dishes, and three deserts. The teams are given one hour.

The Red team works together and is excited about their menu. The Blue team is battling against Jen, who isn’t listening to any of them.

The teams present their menus to Chef Ramsay, and he’s very impressed by the Red team choices. He says if they can execute it, they’ll be in great shape. The Blue team reads off their menu and Ramsay shakes his head. Louross steps up and says he doesn’t like the menu. Ramsay forces Jen to admit most of the options were hers, and Chef deems the menu is horrible. The Blue team rewrites their menu. They present the new menu and Chef Ramsay approves.

The teams prep and the doors to Hell’s Kitchen are opened.

Red team’s first dish out to Chef tastes terrible and is sent back. Meanwhile, the Blue team is cranking out the dishes. But Petrozza gets busted for being unorganized and dirty in the kitchen.

Jean-Phillipe is returning dishes to the Red kitchen. The pasta and the sauces are way too salty. Part of the reason may be that Matt is sweating over the food he’s cooking. The Red team can’t get their service beyond the appetizers. Blue team gets their first main course out, but it’s undercooked. Louross is screwing up the meat station and it’s taking the Blue team down. Chef Ramsay threatens to shut down the Blue kitchen if one more beef dish is returned.

Matt continues to mess up even in the vegetable station. Matt is furious, and Corey wants Matt to get his head together. Corey wants Matt out of the way.

Louross delivers a great beef dish, but it’s too late -- the customers have left. Chef Ramsay is furious.

Corey and Christina continue to power through Matt’s mistakes and are out cooking the Blue team. Next door, in the Blue kitchen, Bobby and Jen begin to battle again. Bobby is fed up with Jen’s attitude. Jen delivers a raw soufflé to Chef, and he’s furious. Blue team pulls together to get their last desserts out. The Red team races to complete. Tonight, both teams are able to finish service.

Chef Ramsay brings the chefs together and tells them the menus were very close. Each team fell apart during certain dishes. Chef singles out Matt and Louross for their poor service. Tonight, the losing team is the Blue team.

Petrozza, while sloppy, is the best of the worst. He must nominate his peers for elimination. Petrozza puts Louross up because he lacks the skills to compete. Then he names Jen, because of her attitude. Chef asks Petrozza who should be sent home and it will be Petrozza’s call. Shockingly, Petrozza says Louross. Chef Ramsay agrees, and Louross turns in his jacket.

However, Chef isn’t done. He calls Matt forward.

Chef Ramsay tells them to take off their jackets. He sends Jen back to the Red team, and sends Matt back to the Blue team. Everyone is shocked.
