How Deaf Do You Need to be for a Dog?
My wife is HoH, and we're all learning ASL so that we'll be ready for when we need it. My question to all you experts is, how bad does hearing need to be to get a service dog? I know that most of the organizations have a waiting list, so we want to get on one ASAP.
How much of a hearing loss does it take to qualify? Does the ADA have a particular limit? Does each state have its own definition, or is it just up to the Deaf person?
