It seems like MacGyver always tried to find a way without killing people. He said in one episode he solves problems as a job, I think, and that's what he does as a premise of the entire show. Doesnt hurt how he gets creative about it, and make tools out of nothing! lol.. basically an extremely resourceful problem-solving hired hand who understands the laws of physics and scientific stuff.
