no not a lot like Katrina. Major difference is New Orleans is in a wealthy country with expensive barriers, advanced warnings, and such. If it happened in Myanmar.. we understand. it's a poor country with full of poor people with shoddy homes on shores. But it occurred in New Orleans which can be prevented and it's a huge embarrassment. We lost over 1300 people! It's ALMOST unheard of losing that many people to any natural disaster in USA for a very long time.
