Austin Police Department said a criminal investigation is underway after they arrested a Texas School for the Deaf employee.
Shane Flournoy is accused of having an improper relationship with a minor male student.
Flournoy has been fired from the school.
A school spokesperson said they conducted a background check on Flournoy and he had no record before he was hired.
Flournoy was hired as a residential worker last year.
The Texas School for the Deaf said the alleged improper relationship did not happen on campus.
They added there's no reason to believe Flournoy had an improper relationship with any other TSD student.
