There is no doubt that there are serious problems with our criminal justice system. What do yoiu want to bet that this young man was a member of a minority group and had been raised in a economically disadvantaged home? Those groups are disproportionately given tougher sentences and less effective legal representation.
Hopefully, this sentence will be overturned under an appeal. This is outrageous.
