If you watched the Kentucky Derby today you may have noticed Jockey Kent Desormeaux's son Jake with his bilateral Advanced Bionics CI's. Evidently he was born deaf in 1999.

Interestingly, his father (the jockey) lost his hearing in his right ear after a racing accident in 1992.
