Only Praise
You're absolutely right. There is a time and place for everything.
We should roll out the red carpet for a country's whose authoritarian regime invaded a holy land, killed hundreds of peaceful protestors, and threatens nearly half the world's interests in the Southeast Pacific. We should turn a blind eye to all of this so that we can come together in good faith with respect to humanity.
The IOC exercised great wisdom in selecting modern China as host to the olympics. The only thing more wise would be to have it in Damascus after they've invaded Mecca.
It's all about the athletes. Nevermind Tianenmen Square Massacre quickly forgotten or the Tibetan Slaughter unabashedly continuing, it's very, very important to surround the Olympic spirit with paramilitary police. The true spirit of the Olympics cannot be suppressed.
Afterall, there is a time and a place for everything. China's counting on it . . .
