Personally, if I had to lie about my nationality in order to get polite attitude from another country's citizens I think I would prefer to stay home. Why should I spend my hard-earned dollars as a tourist in a place that insults me?

well reba when a country is as arrogant as the US it is very very easy to hate them as whole, it's all about themself and not one care for ill effects they cause globally, I also hate Iran as a country,but having met a few iranians they are a really nice friendly people, not all of them are fanatics.
