I think it's more of an issue of attention or being left out.

I've met with some students at NTID who would say that they aren't offended or concerned about an issue. Months later, someone would bring up a complaint about that issue and attract attention. Suddenly, the ones who said they weren't offended or concerned... would join the bandwagon and start complaining as well.

So, the question is... were they really concerned/offended or were they feeling that this one particular person was going to become popular cuz he/she was getting attention and they wanted to gain attention as well?
