It is so rare for a deaf person to find a hearie that signs. When I signed back that I had no money, the deaf vendor took two steps back, smiled with a nod and walked away with a shocked expression on his face. This has happened to me several times too. Each time the deaf individual is totally surprised that I signed my response.

Hearies can’t communicate with the Deaf and so their bloopers are expected. Some are mean and mean people suck, but most (I would like to think) are just clumsy because they don’t know what to do/say to deaf people.
