Actually we have already made many wrong friends while got rid of many good leaders/people throughout history.
I would think having friendship with countries like Canada, UK, France, Japan, South Korea would be important, no?
I mean it does not make sense that we try to form strong bond with China while "deny" Taiwan especially that Taiwan is a democracy country and China's not, just because China got more to offer than Taiwan. That sort of thing I am talking about.
However, I still think we should still work with countries that we don't like such as Cuba, North Korea, etc.
I think we have done more harm than good by shutting them out. If we develops a good relationship, they might even want to copy our model, instead of have opposite effects.
I don't think people will use that excuse of all those good we have done forever.
People will get tired and we are like walking time bomb. One day, one of powerful countries is going to snap, that's all it will take.
And when that happens, who will want to stand with us?
