Not weird at all. You obviously have strong memories of visual components of past events. Its the auditory information that escaped you. I agree with your counselor. Your memories are jigsawed because you were not able to get a complete picture. But you do seem to have vivid visual memories, which just goes to show that it is not a problem with you, but a problem with the environment that didn't meet your needs.
